International Schools Consortium

International Schools Consortium (iSC) is a nonprofit organization that, since 1986, has offered excellent academic programs to meet the intellectual, physical, and emotional needs of students. iSC has six schools in China — in Chengdu, Qingdao, Wuhan, Wuxi, Tianjin, and Yantai — one school in the UAE, and helps to support various other educational initiatives globally. iSC is a multi-school program, enabling students and teachers to participate in system-wide programs where they can interact with others outside of their immediate school. Students compete in basketball, volleyball and soccer tournaments, as well as music and choral festivals, and Model United Nations (MUN) conventions.

Joseph Kim

I was born in Anaheim, California and grew up in Chicago, Illinois. I am of Korean ethnicity, and I do speak Korean fluently as my parents were teachers/professors (in classical music) in South Korea and taught me the culture, language, and customs. After graduating from college, I came to Chengdu to work for my uncle, who runs a business here. Since then I have taught the SAT, TOEFL, IELTS, and sent numerous Chinese high school students mainly to America to college as a guidance counselor. Just a few months ago in July, I got married to my beautiful wife, Jiin, in Chicago. This is my first year at CDIS teaching secondary science. It’s been great beginning a new journey together with my wife at a new school.
