Thank you to those who were able to attend our ECC parents meeting during the first week of school. We know that getting back to school the first few weeks can be tough on our youngest students. It's very common for small children to be very tired during the first few weeks of school as they adjust to new routines. You can help them adjust by making sure they get plenty of sleep at night and by having healthy snacks ready for them when they need them.
If your child is still struggling after three weeks with the adjustment back to school, make sure to reach out to their teacher to let them know. We want our students to love coming to school and for the learning environment to be a positive one.
Thank you for a great start to the school year. It was so wonderful to see our students back on campus and so eager to learn.
A few reminders:
- Please make sure to sign your students up for after school clubs through Power School if you would like them to participate. After School clubs will be starting on September 14th for students in grades 1 through 5 on Mondays and Thursdays.
- Now that we are a few days into the school year please make sure your students are getting into good routines. Small things that make a big difference include going to bed at a reasonable time and getting up early enough to ensure the morning isn't rushed. Students might also need help setting up a schedule and place to do homework after school. And finally its important to focus on packing and eating healthy snacks. Healthy snacks give students the right amount of energy to make it through the day without having sugar crashes. Having the proper fuel for the day helps improve students’ ability to focus and have a positive attitude.
