High school basketball teams persevere!

February 21, 2025

Our high school girls' and boys' basketball teams participated in the LifePlus and CISA tournaments this season. We celebrate the team's commitment to persistence in the sport and their support for one another while highlighting persistence as the quality of the month for February.

During the tournament, there were a lot of instances where the players in our team practiced persistence. After losing the first game against Tianjin, the games after were all very close and very competitive. We came out with three wins out of 5 games in the first 2 days of the tournament. We kept our heads high and ended our season with a win in the 5th and 6th placement game.

In the final girls' game, the team struggled. But we caught up by a few points by the third quarter, boosting confidence. The girls did not give up, even towards the end of the game. They lifted each other's spirits by excitedly planning their positions on the court and discussing how to cooperate. Team spirit and perseverance made me feel we gained more from this experience than the game's outcome. We learned together that demonstrating our sportsmanship is more important than winning.
