VEX Robotics Competition Sparks STEM Skills!
January 16, 2026
Last week, our Middle School robotics team had an exciting experience at the MS Robotics VEX IQ tournament held at Wuhan International School! VEX Robotics brings education to life, igniting curiosity and fostering experimentation. Through hands-on learning, students grasp essential science and engineering concepts while developing creativity, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving. It’s amazing to see how these experiences shape our identities as passionate STEM learners!
Congratulations!
JaeA, Daisy, and Julia won the Design Award for their Engineering and Design notebook—rewarded to those who demonstrate clear, complete and organized record of an iterative Engineering Design Process, the tournament’s third most prestigious award!
Mason, Steve, and Michael on winning the Create Award for creative solutions to game challenges. Students understand and explain how they worked together to develop their robot design and game strategy.
Dylan, Andrew, and Lillian for finishing in 3rd place in the teamwork tournament.
From the first step, students set up their process of testing and refining. Students need curiosity and determination to discover innovative solutions for building their robots. Ms. Shang, STEAM teacher
High School Robotics will compete this weekend at the LifePlus MS VEX Robotics competition in Wuhan. Middle and High school students who receive awards have the opportunity to compete at the VEX IQ Robotics competition at the Concordia International School Shanghai on February 6-7, 2026.
