Honoring the Class of 2025

June 13, 2025

On June 10th, we celebrated and honored the graduating seniors of the Class of 2025 from Chengdu International School. The ceremony signified years of hard work and valuable life lessons gained through relationships with peers and teachers. The night was not only dedicated to the students who had completed their high school journeys but also to the parents, teachers, and staff who supported them along the way. We are incredibly proud of their academic achievements and the individuals they have grown to become.

StuCo President speech – Stephen
"There are only two people you need to impress: Your 8-Year-Old and 80-Year-Old Self" -Joe Leech

What I have learned from my soon-to-be 8-year-old brother and 80-year-old grandfather:

Have Fun! We all have an inner child wanting to explore the world and enjoy the moment. Always remember to stop and enjoy the parts that make the CDIS community so special!

No amount of money can replace the value of time spent with family and close friends. No matter where your next destination is, treasure the relationships you have built here.

Valedictorian speech – Justin
We are all walking mosaics of other people's influence

My rationale is a byproduct of listening to my dad's lectures and thought processes in life. Thank you for teaching me how to be calm when it matters, even my thoughts are echos of your own.

My Empathy for the people I care about comes from the meticulous tasks my mom does every day. Thank you for showing me what it means to have a heart of gold. Because even my compassion is a reflection of your own.

My Ambition is from Anna. She pushed me to see the fruits of my labor. Anna, thank you for pushing me to see what success looks like because even my ambition is borrowed from you.

Who built you? Which pieces will lift you up or bring you down? Do they belong with the person you are becoming? What will you do about it?

Let your roots reach out, we are connected
" Show up as your real self, flawed, honest, and human, to make space to connect, grow and change. You are part of something bigger. There is a network beneath your feet, relationships, memories, and shared stories, ready to hold you up when you are weak and grow stronger when you give. Let your roots reach out because when you stop pretending and performing; you don't just heal yourself; you heal others, too. Thank you for letting me tell my story and for choosing to be a part of it; now go and share your own." Mr. Wiechmann
