TIANMUN XIII: Empowering Future Leaders in Global Diplomacy!
November 19, 2025
TIANMUN is a three-day United Nations simulation for grades 7-12. Students from schools across Asia collaborated to develop and debate innovative solutions to global issues. TIANMUN 2025 will offer nine different committees: General Assembly, Human Rights Council, Economic and Social Council, Disarmament Commission, Environment Commission, United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development, Advisory Panel, Security Council, and World Health Assembly.
The goal of TIANMUN is to enhance students' knowledge of international issues, policy-making, and the activities of the United Nations. Valuable skills in public speaking, research and writing, negotiation, persuasion, leadership, organization, and interpersonal communication will also be acquired.
This year, the conference was attended by approximately 300 students from around nine different schools. Through the event, students from various countries, including the UK, Germany, and Singapore, gathered to meet new friends, including those they never expected to bond with or those they might not have had the opportunity to befriend before.
The key benefits for these students are that they are encouraged to practice their speaking, writing, listening, and analytical skills. They need to comprehend what others are saying, identify any flaws, and propose solutions to real-world problems. Through discussions relevant to today's challenges and addressing issues the world faces, this provides students with the opportunity to confront these issues and take ownership at a young age, allowing them to experience what it's like to work on solutions that affect not only their home countries but also nations across the globe.
By collaborating and sharing perspectives, these young individuals not only broaden their understanding of different cultures but also develop the skills necessary for thoughtful and impactful leadership. As they tackle complex problems, they are laying the groundwork for a more interconnected and compassionate future. The experiences gained in this setting will inspire them to become proactive global citizens, ready to make a difference in their communities.
