My journey to China was certainly not a direct one. In fact, neither education nor China were on my radar when I was growing up, deciding what I wanted to be when I got old. The basics: I grew up in Texas, lived in Colorado and northern California as a teen and very young adult before making a home in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, and ultimately moving to Boise, Idaho. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and established myself as a writer, editor, and project manager. I spent more than 20 years in corporate America jobs before turning to education. I earned a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from George Fox University and accepted my first job in education at CDIS. While here I’ve taught middle and high school English courses, run summer English enrichment camps, spearheaded accreditation efforts, and learned all about university counseling. Over the years, both my skill set and my love for China have grown. Working at CDIS has been the best first job ever.
