I must have been born not to put down roots in any one place because I have lived in 23 different homes so far! I was born in Seoul, Korea, and grew up there with four sisters until the mid 70’s, when our parents decided to emigrate to America. Having lived in many places in the States, I’m what you might call a “měiguótōng” (美国通). I have lived in various parts of America: Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Texas. I’ve also 39 out of the 50 states.
Beginning as a clerk at Marshall's Department Store during my junior year in high school and continuing over the following 30 years, I have gained professional experience working as a financial and operational auditor, finance and I.T. director, and financial controller in various retail, corporate, and manufacturing corporations.
Since moving to China in 2007, I studied Chinese language for four years at two different universities. I also operated an SAT academy and developed curriculum for and taught SAT classes for two years prior to joining CDIS in its Information Technology Department. I look forward to utilizing my 30+ years of finance experience and passion for information technology to support the endeavors of CDIS.
My wife and I have been married for over 20 years and have one daughter, two sons, and one dog. My passions include music (7,000 album records & CD collection), movies, sports (American football, baseball, tennis, bowling, para-gliding, etc.), automobiles, electronic gadgets, memorizing various statistical information, etc.
