Exploring Our Early Childhood Center!

Sending your children to school for the first time is an exciting and intentional decision that shapes their future. In our Early Childhood Center (ECC) program, we focus on helping children develop the academic fundamentals that will prepare them for elementary school while having fun and learning to share and interact with others.

Last week, we held ECC Experience Day to create a welcoming environment for both parents and children to explore what school at CDIS is like. Our goal was to open our campus to families with children aged 3 and under, so they could experience the classroom setup firsthand as our youngest learners begin their educational journey.

Our morning schedule was packed with educational activities, including library read-alouds, math, STEAM projects, playtime, and, of course, snacks. Parents had the opportunity to sit alongside their children while our Early Childhood Center (ECC) teacher, Ms. Sutherland, led the math and STEAM activities.

Our Early Childhood Center (ECC) offers programs for children up to five years old, specifically designed to provide developmentally appropriate education. Our small classes are led by an Early Childhood teacher and a co-teacher, ensuring that each child receives individualized attention.

For students ages three to six, these early years are critical for developing oral language and social skills. An early emphasis on oral language development gives children an expanded vocabulary, better verbal fluency, and higher reading comprehension later. We also work daily to build your child’s character and social skills through values-based lessons integrated throughout our ECC program. Our goal is to build a foundation for lifelong learning.
