21st LifePlus Fine Arts Festival: A Celebration of Creative Collaboration
April 02, 2026
Watch the LifePlus Fine Arts Festival Recap
For the 21st Fine Arts Festival, students from our five LifePlus community schools across the country came together to collaborate as one band, choir, and drama performance. Our art students participated in various art workshops. Even before the festival, students practiced individually at their respective schools. The performance details were finalized over the weekend, with the band and choir rehearsing for hours. Each group received notes and guidance from our guest conductors: Dr. John Fletcher for the band and Dr. Derrick L. Thompson for the choir, for a beautiful performance.

Mr. Micah Hale directed this year's drama performance, in which the students delivered a hilarious performance. Meanwhile, the art students split their time between workshops and various experiences. They visited the Tianjin Art Museum, where they painted the beautiful cityscape, and participated in workshops led by the talented Ms. Lijia Deng, focusing on Chinese heavy color painting. The pieces created during the workshops were later displayed at the evening concert.
At the concert, the band performed five pieces: "Flourish for Wind Band," "Sparks," "Earth Song," "Gates of Morocco," and "Rondo." The art students showcased their impressive works created throughout the year. The audience appreciated the students' artwork during intermission.

The drama shone in the second half with No Substitutes. And to wrap up the night, the choir performed five songs: "Gloria in Excelsis Deo," "Rainy Day," "Stardust," "To Sit and Dream," and "When Dreams Take Flight." Each presentation and performance at the concert was outstanding, showcasing the developed talents of all students.
We were honored to host our distinguished guest conductors and artists and would like to express our gratitude for traveling to Tianjin and guiding our students. A heartfelt thank you also goes to all the teachers and staff members who supported the event. Every individual involved contributed to making this occasion truly memorable.
