Meet Our Dedicated Student Services Team
September 26, 2025
The Student Services Department at Chengdu International School is dedicated to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student can thrive. We provide a range of programs, resources, and services designed to meet our students' diverse academic, social, and emotional needs.
Our mission is to support students in their academic and personal growth through essential services and resources that foster resilience, joy in learning, and confidence for the journey ahead.
Lindsey Wu - Nurse
My role is to provide health care to the students and staff. What I enjoy most is I can truly help students and their families and get their appreciation. A fun fact about me is, I've worked overseas in 2 different countries as a nurse for 6 years and can speak a little Arabic!
Lisa Yang - Librarian
I help students not only build their interest in reading and choose the right books to read but also help them build the skills they need to succeed across all subjects. Such as formulating good questions, finding credible sources, evaluating bias, and synthesizing information. It doesn't matter what your child's reading level is or what their interests are. Reading for pleasure is the single most effective way!
Joyce Hao - Learning Support
I really enjoy building connections with my students through conversations and spending time together. Hearing from parents also helps me see students from a different perspective and understand them better so I can support them more effectively.
Parents, Listen to your child and try to view things from their perspective. I recommend start conversations with something positive, then discuss areas for growth, and close with encouragement, like a hamburger!
Ruth Hou - Learning Support
I foster students’ growth by providing targeted academic, social, and emotional interventions by collaborating with classroom teachers and parents to ensure a consistent, supportive approach for students’ needs.
Academically, I deliver specialized instruction in small groups or one-on-one, modify assignments, and teach essential study skills.
Socially, I may facilitate social skills groups and structure collaborative activities to improve peer interactions.
Emotionally, I try my best to create a safe environment to help students develop self-regulation, coping strategies, and confidence.
Fresia Li - English Language Support
I work with students in small groups or in their classrooms to help them build confidence and feel comfortable learning English. I also try to guide them in developing learning strategies and experiencing English in diverse cultural contexts.
Parents, encourage your child to read at home, even in their home language! Reading and having conversations together help build strong language skills. Another great way to practice is keeping a simple diary, where your child can write a few sentences about their day—these builds both writing skills and self-expression.
Lisa Li - English Language Support
Every child has unlimited learning potential, especially when learning a new language. As long as we give them enough time and patience, allowing them to practice and explore at their own pace, they will naturally unlock their power to grow. Believe in the child and support them step by step as they grow happily and confidently!
Kayla Liao - English Language Support
I support students by helping them build confidence in English and tailoring my lessons to meet individual needs. In my ELS class, students connect socially in a safe, smaller setting where they can share their cultures and form friendships, all while using English. It is also important to me to be attentive to the students' emotional well-being, encouraging them through challenges and celebrating their progress, which helps them feel more confident and successful at school.
Kyrstin Stockholm - English Language Support
I work closely with their mainstream English teachers, so that I can pre-teach vocabulary and language concepts to students so that they can understand the English tasks in their other classes. I hope to give students the knowledge and confidence so that they can succeed in their other classes, along with helping them grow in our community language of English so that they can connect with others and make lots of new friends from other cultures.
Angela Guo - Well-being Counselor
The services I provide here for students vary in terms of methods on social and emotional themes, which include one-on-one counseling, small group activities, workshops, and gameplay counseling. Apart from student programs, I offer parents workshops and parent communications to support students' growth on campus and at home as one solid alignment. As one of Lifeplus' student well-being components, I also provide referral services for students and their families based on their needs.
